Pork Farms- Filling and Flavoursome

MASTER PIEMAKERS

The History of Pork Farms.

Like most great successes, the Pork Farms story starts with a great idea, an entrepreneurial spirit and a dedication to quality.

In the early 1930s, Ken Parr – a local Nottingham lad fresh out of training with his City and Guild's Baker’s Certificate in hand — had all three.

Setting out with a loan of £9,000 (a whopping sum in those days) to open his own pie shop in the City, he quickly gained an enviable reputation for baking delicious pork pies with his signature dark and crispy pastry.

Aware that he was onto a winner, Ken soon had his eye on the competition and took over another local pie shop called Pork Farms.

And the rest, quite literally, is history. We’ve been baking to Ken’s signature recipe for the past 80 years and our pies are just as popular now as they were then. Their peppery flavour and perfect pastry have made them the UK’s best selling pork pie brand; a fact that Ken would no doubt be proud of.

And following Ken’s pioneering spirit, we’re constantly searching for ways to improve our range, from sausage rolls to the classic scotch egg. All made with the same dedication and spirit that Ken started baking with 80 years ago.
