Bonfire Night: The perfect pork pie pairings

Posted 26.10.2021

With Bonfire Night fast approaching, it is the perfect time to put on your woolly hat and wrap up to enjoy the best firework displays near you. Whether you are taking the kids or having a cosy romantic evening, a bonfire is a perfect introduction to the dark winter nights drawing in.

Along with the burning of Guy Fawkes, the 5th of November is a great time to indulge in seasonal food such as pork pies, mushy peas, and mint sauce. Why not try putting a spin on your pork pie and pair them with your favourite seasonal sauces and sides.

Snap, crackle, and pop

One of the UK’s popular bonfires displays is Legoland’s Firework Spectacular, Berkshire. This is one for all the family and keeps the little ones entertained. To match the spectacular displays why not take along some mini pork pies to snack on during the show.

For those who want to watch the show from the comfort of their own home, keep yourself nice and warm by heating up your pork pies. Add an extra cartwheel to your taste buds with a side of homemade crunchy coleslaw while you sit back and enjoy the fireworks from your window.

Fiery pork pies

Another great display that is taking place in the UK is the Bonfire and Fireworks at Chatsworth, Derbyshire. With live entertainment and two firework displays, Chatsworth offers an exciting evening for all.

Before filling up on snacks and toffee apples, why not try a slightly different pairing with your pork pies. Spice up your pie with a fiery chutney to keep you warm in the autumnal weather. Go plant-based for the evening and pair the chutney with one of our porkless pork pies.

Smokey caramelised pies

Remember, remember Edenbridge Bonfire Night, Kent. Along with their firework display, Edenbridge Bonfire Night starts its celebration with a torch-lit procession. The procession finishes at the firework field, where the iconic burning of two Guy Fawkes takes place.

With the smell of bonfire in the air, the Melton Mowbray Pork Pies with smoky caramelised onions is a pairing you do not want to miss. This smoky combo will make all the difference to your pork pie and will really tickle your taste buds for that seasonal feel.
