Here you’ll hopefully find the answer to all your queries surrounding Board Games Championships 2017. If you don’t find what you are looking for or have additional questions please email charlotte@kr-pr.co.uk

MICROPUBS

Q: What are the dates of the different stages to the championships?

A: Heats: February 26th – March 26th 2017. Semi finals and grand final: 13th May 2017 – both the semi finals and grand final will be held on the same day at a venue TBC.

Q: When will I receive my board games bundle?

A: Once registration is complete you will receive your board games by Monday 26th February 2017.

Q: Who do I contact if my board games don’t arrive?

A: Contact KRPR by emailing charlotte@kr-pr.co.uk or call 01257 262498.

Q: Which board games will I receive as part of my bundle?

A: Micropubs will receive 5 x board games: Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit 2000s, Jenga, Boggle and Taboo.

Q: Can I change the board games I receive or use games I already have?

A: There is a no exchange policy on the five games provided to micropubs. If landlords own one or more of the 5 games listed as part of championship, they can be used in an event of multiple games and players at one time.

Q: What do I do with the games bundle after the heats?

A: The games bundle is for the individual micropub to keep, for use of micropub customers.

Q: When will I receive my landlord pack?

A: Once registered; Pork Farms will email you a link to your printable landlord pack.

Q: What is included in the landlord pack?

A: Promotional posters and leaflets, sign-up sheet, score sheet, photography brief, individual games briefs.

Q: How can I publicise the event?

A: Put up your promotional posters in the window or behind the bar of your venue. Leaflets can be scattered at the bar and across tables.

Q: What is the prize?

A: A championship host plaque for your pub and Pork Farms’merchandise .

Q: What if I register, receive the games and nobody wants to participate?

A: Board games bundles will need to be sent back to KRPR.

PLAYERS

Q: Do we have to follow the rules and score sheets provided by Pork Farms?

A: Yes, as part of the championship, gaming rules and scores sheets are to be provided by landlords and followed by participants. If rules are changed or score sheets incomplete, Pork Farms will not count these entries going into further stages of the campaign.

Q: If I make it through the heats round do I have to be available for all other championship stages?

A: Yes, if you are successful during the heats round, participants agree to be available for:

Semi finals and grand final: 13th May 2017 – both the semi finals and grand final will be held on the same day at a venue TBC.

Q: If I make it to the semi final/grand final, do I have to pay for my own travel/accommodation?

A: Players who have reached the semi final / final will have their travel and accommodation arranged and paid for by Pork Farms. Travel will either be standard class train tickets or mileage as pre agreed with KRPR at 45p per mile.

Q: What are the prizes for winning the championship?

A: The prize for winning Board Games Championships 2017 is an exclusive pork pie trophy, certificate, Pork Farms’ vouchers and selected Pork Farms’ merchandise as well as a prize bundle from a leading board games manufacturer.

Q: What if I don’t want to have my photograph taken or be in the video at the event?

A: To be part of the championships, Pork Farms will need your event photos and video footage participation as part of the championship T & C’s.

Q: Is there a hashtag we can use on social media?

A: Yes, #porkfarmsgames

Q: What is the prize?

A: A stack of board games, an exclusive board games trophy, a framed certificate and selected Pork Farms’ merchandise.

FAMILY BOARD GAMES NIGHT

Q. When will I receive my family pack?

A. Once registered Pork Farms will email you a link to your printable family pack, which includes: fun activities for all the family to enjoy.

Q. When can we take part in the competition?

A. Once registered and have printed your family pack, you can begin playing right the way through to National Board Games Week (May 8th – 14th 2017) when we will be announcing the winners.

Q. Once our Family Board Games Night has taken place, what’s the next step?

A. Send your games night pictures to Pork Farms social media pages Twitter: @Pork_Farms / Facebook: porkfarmsporkpies

Q. Is there a hashtag we can use on social media?

A. Yes, #porkfarmsgames

Q. What is the prize?

A. A stack of board games and selected Pork Farms’ prizes.

BLOGGERS

Q. When is the Board Games Championship Bloggers Event?

A. May 6th 2017 – all day event.

Q. When do I need to accept my invitation to Board Games Championship Bloggers Event?

A. Bloggers wanting to participate in the event need to respond to their email invitation by March 2017.

Q. Are travel expenses included as part of the invitation?

A. Yes, travel expenses are included. It is the bloggers responsibility to keep hold of their travel expense receipt/invoice to claim back through KRPR within 7 days after the event. Travel will either be train tickets or mileage as pre agreed with KRPR at 45p per mile.

Q. What sort of social and digital engagement do you need as part of the event?
A. Bloggers must schedule/post at least 3 social media posts on the day of the event using social handles Twitter: @Pork_Farms / Facebook: porkfarmsporkpies using hashtag #porkfarmsgames

Bloggers must also post a review with images and/or video of the event on their blogs within 7 days after the event referencing all elements of the event, Pork Farms and National Board Games Week.
