Elaine and Gary High

Elaine and Gary run the Taylor High Memorial Fund in Lowestoft; a charity which was set up after their son, Taylor, was tragically killed in a car accident. The charity helps people in the local community who are in need, helping people in many different ways.

Phil Franks nominated the couple for the Pork Farms Pop Up Party campaign, as a way of thanking the couple for the work they do.

During an emotional event, more than 50 friends, family and the team from Pork Farms gathered at the Corton Inn, Lowestoft, to surprise the couple with an afternoon tea themed party.

Winner Elaine High said: “It’s incredible, I thought I walked into somebody else’s party, then I recognised the faces and realised it was for us!

“It’s so amazing Pork Farms could do this for us. The funds raised go into the community; it helps everybody with a charitable need, whether it is a disability or people who are sick in hospital. We’ve taken groups of old people in wheelchairs on boats, to Christmas parties and other different activities.

“We’ve raised £98k to date; we only keep a small amount back for emergency fundraising.

“It isn’t just us that do the fundraising, others help such as friends, and they all contribute in one way or another.

“We’ve done this for six years now, the Taylor High Memorial Fund, as long as people have a charitable need in the community; we do our best to help.”
