As Britain’s number one pork pie maker we are all about celebrating the best of British, whether that’s food, our beautiful landscape or the communities that make up our unique nation.
We run a number of projects every year, both fun activities and wider campaigns aimed at championing people who go above and beyond in their work to make Britain an even greater place.
Last year we ran some award winning projects and campaigns, many of which have made a return for 2017. One of our favourites was Pop Up Parties. Aimed at celebrating everyday heroes, we asked local community organisations to nominate someone who really makes a positive difference in the place they live. The nominations came through in their hundreds; we picked five winners and staged a summer party for them in recognition of all their hard work.
Another great campaign from last year was our quest to find a new pork pie flavour. The Your Pie Your Way campaign saw the nation challenged to submit their ideas for pork pie recipes. We ended up with some incredible ideas including our winning recipe, Claire Tunnard’s Thai Style Pork, Coconut and Lemongrass pie, which were baked for the very first time by Pork Farms last year.
From the nation’s favourite recipes to favourite beauty spots, we also launched our Hidden Gems campaign last year to find out the nation’s top beauty spots. The results unearthed some real hidden treasures, including our winner, Druridge Bay Country Park in the North East. To find out the Hidden Gems near you simply click our Hidden Gems tab link here
Last, but not least, 2016 saw our first Pork Farms National Board Games Championships. Back again this year, the competition ran through local micropubs all over the UK, and saw the UK compete by playing five different board games; our winner was officially crowned the UK Board Games Champion during National Board Games Week.
