It’s a cottage life…

2nd October 2017

Here at Pork Farms we greatly appreciate all things quintessentially British from copious amounts of tea, serving up our delicious pork pies and holidaying right here in the beautiful UK.

Throughout the year we love to discover the perfect family spots whether it is camping, glamping, nature walks or activity days, we source these ideas to share with our lovely readers. As it is now officially autumn, we’ve been on a mission to keep you and your family in the great outdoors while throwing in some fantastic British history.

Courtesy of the National Trust we’ve decided on our top picks for an autumn cottage getaway to help you decide how to enjoy a well-earned break, even after the summer months have ended for another year.

The National Trust has 400 cottages in their care across Wales, England and Northern Ireland and all offer a chance to delve into the wondrous historical stories behind each building. So if this sounds like something you and your family would enjoy, check out our top picks:

Whites Gates Cottage, Lincolnshire: A gorgeous traditional thatched cottage on the Gunby estate with plenty of options to go for walks around with the family

Hall Court, Cornwall:  A stunning preserved space to holiday packed full of original Tudor features on the Cotehele estate.

Low Hallgarth, Lake District: A fellside cottage which one had a famous owner, Beatrix Potter no less, with walks all around and views over Little Langdale.

To see our picks and hundreds of other cottages you can visit with your family visit:
