Celebrate Bonfire Night and Halloween with pork pie and peas

30th October 2019

Pumpkin Pork Pie

We don’t know about you, but nothing says ‘autumn’ like a chilly November evening watching the fireworks next to a roaring bonfire. And our favourite part? The food. We love to enjoy a warm glass of mulled wine, a spicy piece of parkin and a hot pork pie on Guy Fawkes Night as much as we love to write our names in the air with sparklers.

This Bonfire Night, we’re doing like the lovely people of Yorkshire do and having our classic Pork Farms pork pies with a spoonful of hot mushy peas and mint sauce. Back in the day, there were pork pie and pea shops all over Yorkshire and the north of England in markets and street stalls.  The Yorkshire delicacy is one of our favourite ways to serve a pork pie and perfect for Bonfire Night. Depending on the size of your party, we’d recommend slicing a few of our Medium Pork Pies, or why not try a few of our mini pork and pickle pies – the spicy chutney will taste delicious with a wedge of cheese and a warm glass of mulled wine or cider.

Pork pies are classic, cosy comfort food and are ideal for Bonfire Night as they require minimal prep time – just heat until piping hot and pour on the hot peas.

A great British buffet is the best way to celebrate Halloween as it can cater for both young and old trick or treaters. And what could be a better addition than one of our pork pies made with 100% British pork?Branston pickle top pie

Our mini pork pies are perfect party food, particularly for the last-minute rush before the trick or treaters arrive. Taking no time to prepare, you can lay them out on the Halloween party table in seconds and they’re ideal to nibble on before the sugary snacks descend on the doorstep.

Our mini pork and Branston pickle topped pies have a delicious layer of the great British sweet pickle, which will complement the cheesy snacks, pickled onions and other savoury canapes you might be cooking up on All Hallows Eve.

Or why not buy one of our Medium Original Pork Pies and make perilous patterns on the lid? They’re perfect for a pumpkin or a ghoulish face.

If you have any terrifying treat ideas using pork pies, get in touch on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter!

You can buy our selection of pork pies from a range of Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys and convenience shops around the UK.
