The whole month of May is “National Walking Month,” so we at Pork Farms want you to dust off those boots, pack a picnic (don’t forget the pork pies!) and experience our great British countryside.
What better way to while away the weekends than taking in nature’s finest air while strolling, rambling or even trekking through wild picturesque forests or discovering an idyllic cove just off the beaten track. Whatever your preference, we wanted to help you along your way with our very own recommended walks!
We’ve created an area on our Pork Farms’ website with details of walks, featuring some of the UK’s favourite beauty spots, as discovered during our Hidden Gems campaign last year, where people voted on the best places to visit in the UK.
Feeling inspired to take to the outdoors? Well here’s one of our suggested walks, which has recently featured in the Sunday Mirror as a “Walk of the Week” to get you started, Druridge Bay in Northumberland:

For the next mile the walk now continues along a stunning stretch of golden sand, giving expansive views of the bay and the North Sea. Eventually you reach a set of wooden steps which lead into the dunes, take these steps and walk through the dunes, across a track and through some pinewoods. This will bring you out at the Druridge Bay Country Park Visitor centre, which has a great café to stop for a drink and refuel………
